Like most crusty old guys, I believe that the best music was from my childhood and teenage years. In fact I suppose that could be true of us all - that's where the memories are, embedded to a much-loved soundtrack. But that's mostly the hit singles, what about album tracks too? And obscurities - you know, great B-sides, outtakes, that sort of thing?

The seventies had so many wonderful songwriters, bands and classic tracks...and a dazzling variety of styles; compared to today's lamentably uniform music, the decade that taste forgot (apparantly) was full to bursting with startlingly different styles of music, bizarre instruments, odd subject-matter. There was folk, soul, punk, easy listening, reggae, heavy rock, bubblegum pop, disco, singer-songwriters, progressive rockers, novelty stuff and best of all, glam rock.

On this mp3 webpage I'll attempt to include all of these, with a heavenly mix of hits, album tracks and the occasional rarity. Well - I hope you all enjoy these stonking, imaginative, soulful and powerful treats. If you're below the age of 20 and haven't experienced any of these tracks, I implore you to take a listen. This could almost be said to be a radio show without a DJ - the best sort of show, in other words. Well – I suppose that’s all for now. Enjoy! And I'll catch up with you on the 1st of March 2012 for more groovy stuff.
